Naturally, we're going by your words alone and cannot prove that to be false, but there are things within your complaints that make little sense. You say you're a fan of the Souls–formula of games, and have even completed all of them, yet come off as someone diving into that genre for the first time. The tools are there for you to use and abuse them (see halberd one shot boss builds) you just have to find the right way to do so. Ultimately though this is a challenge that is meant to be overcome. It IS very different from souls and can be frustrating to adjust to. And if you really just don't enjoy the game that's fine! No one should tell you that you HAVE to like it. If you're having problems understanding or you're strugling with bosses this is the place to post your questions. The main point here is that you have to put in the effort to actually learn this game. It's VASTLY different from SoulsBorne but if you've played those games you should still be able to learn this system. Your stats are entirely decided by your bloodcode and you can only level up, instead of having to decide what stats to put where. Gear system and leveling is super simplified compared to soulsborne. Map design is a major flaw in this title and can be needlessly frustrating. There are SEVERAL maps that I just want to get in, get the items, and get out (CATHEDRAL). Bosses and their moves vary from stupid simple to extremely complex and it's the players job to learn them and learn their counters. The early Butterfly boss is a bitch and a half to beat, but then you also have bosses like the Argent Wolf boss halfway throw the cathedral area that you can litterally sidestep and backstab to death. That's the point.Īgain, some mobs are a pain in the ass but most have straightforward, predictable movesets that you're meant to learn over time.īosses being to chaotic can be a problem. You complain about character abilities not giving you I-frames but what abilities in DS did that? Casting and using weapon arts in DS3 locks you into a punishable animation.

Learning which companion fits your playstyle and learning how to use them is part of the game. Spell casting is unique but functional and requires proper timing to land.Ĭompanions are just meant to be basic AI they're not going to play the game for you. There are no problems with I-frames, learn the timing and you can roll through attacks just like it DS. Meelee combat is reminiscent of Bloodborne with it's fast paced movement with light weapons, and more methodical with heavier ones. Leveling is simple and scaling is tied entirely to the bloodcode you use meaning you can change your playstyle easily in the early game and allows you to experiment. Exploration rewards you with weapons, armor, and most importantly bloodcodes. You are given all the tools you need to succeed if you can manage to find them. What are you talking about? I can see complaining about some aspects but to say the game is "a complete disaster" is a huge stretch. Gear system and leveling progression is bad, boring and not clear to fully understand. Maps do not invite you to explore every angle to see what you find, they are labyrinths with no variations.

you can learn their pattern but they change too quicly and you can't correctly react to them. Parry is literally useless vs 90% of the mobs.īosses are just pure chaos with no logic and tactic. Mobs are too fast, it seems sometimes to play at Nioh but with a dark souls 1 character, it's really embarassing. I can't count the times I've wasted them hitting nothing.

When he dies, you are fucked becasue the game is built around two players and 1V1 situations are very rare.Ĭharacter abilities DO NOT GIVE YOU INV FRAME! You can basically die while locked in the animation, also they do NOT autotarget mobs. When you have him, sometimes it's fine other times you just see him killing stuff. The idea to give you a companion is the worst design decision ever made in any souls game. It has the worst combat ever made in a soulslike game and it's so bad that it's actually the reason the game can be very hard sometime, because you don't have the tools in your hand to actually play.Įnemies are ALL big, with 2miles long weapons that can catch you no matter where you are, and there are no inv. I played and completed all of them, from demon souls to nioh, from salt and sanctuary to even Jedi knight.
